dc.description.abstract Survey studies have shown that there is widespread goiter in Ethiopia (mean incidence 25%). The occurrence of goiter is associated with low iodine intakes, but little information has been available on goitrogens. A program of distribution of iodized salt has been initiated to eliminate the goiter problem.
